Know the Details of ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy

Now that the Cricket fever is spread across different countries who are getting ready for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 hosted by India, Srilanka and Bangladesh its time to know about the cricket world cup trophy in details.

The New world cup trophy was designed in 1999 Cricket world cup by the team of crown jewelers in London. Two months of hard work from Garrard and Co resulted in a beautiful and shining cricket world cup. The First country to win this trophy is Australia.

 International Cricket Council Aka ICC keeps this trophy in their Dubai Office. The Original trophy has the names of the winning team inscribed on its base. A replica of this Trophy is presented to the winning team with out the inscriptions of the previous winners. This Trophy remains with the winning team permanently.

Significance of the Trophy:-

The Trophy Carries a Golden Globe which represents a cricket ball is supported by 3 silver columns. The Columns are shaped in the form of stumps and bails. These three silver columns represent the three fundamental aspects of cricket i.e. Batting, Bowling and Fielding. This trophy is congruent which means it can be easily recognizable from different angles.
